Selecting and editing objects

  • Select tool (V): click an object, Shift+click to add, drag a box to select several, Ctrl+A selects everything, Esc deselects.
  • Drag to move; drag the corner handles to resize; the round handle above rotates.
  • Arrow keys nudge 0.5 mm (Shift: 5 mm). Delete removes the selection.
  • Cut / copy / paste: Ctrl+X, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V (also in the Edit menu). A copy pasted into the same design is nudged 5 mm so it is not hidden under the original; pasting works between open designs and keeps thread colors.
  • Duplicate, Mirror X / Y, rotate 15° and Center are on the ribbon. Exact position and size: type X, Y, Width, Height on the ribbon.
  • Right-click an object (or right-click with objects selected) for the object menu: Zoom to Selected (Shift+0), Group (Ctrl+G) / Ungroup (Ctrl+U), Branch, Cut / Copy / Paste, Duplicate (Ctrl+D), Delete, Mirror, Rotate, Align and Space, Close / Open Shape, Lock (K), Unlock All (Shift+K), Hide Selected, Hide Unselected (Shift+S), Unhide, Object Properties, Copy / Apply Object Properties (copies stitch settings from one object to others).
  • Groups: grouped objects select and move together (sewing is unchanged). Alt+click picks one object inside a group.
  • Reshape tool (N): edit nodes of a shape, the rails and rungs of a satin.
  • The Sequence docker lists objects in sewing order: drag to reorder, the eye hides, the lock locks. The lightning button optimizes the order to shorten travel.
